In 2006, I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Middle East Technical University, department of architecture. I received the Master of Architecture degree from the same university, in 2010, upon completion of my master thesis: “Akyaka After 25 Years: Spatial and Conceptual Re-Readings In Architectural Discourse”. Over ten years of experience in each phase of architectural and urban design projects, currently I'm a UAE based design coordinator and adjunct teacher at NYIT, Abu Dhabi, Interior Design Department.
Beyond my professional career, I have always been interested in creative, intellectual and conceptual studies at the interface of art, literature and architecture. I have participated in numerous architectural competitions, exhibitions and symposiums and received multiple awards. In recent years, I’m mostly concerned about different representations of architecture such as expressions of transience, motion, politics, culture, bodily perceptions, identity quests and placelessness while taking a critical/ textual frame in the core. I’m in pursuit of an artistic endeavor which exposes itself in spatial installations, readings and performances as I’m the most intimate to space as an architect. I'd like to share my creative journey with you and also log the evolution of my works, oscillating across the threshold between architecture and art.
